A Statement from Rebuilding Exchange:
As we continue to monitor the spread of the virus as well as the recommendations from the CDC and the Chicago Department of Public Health, we will make decisions about the workshops on the spring and summer schedules and will keep you updated as changes are made.

Through workshops and tours, Rebuilding Exchange empowers Chicagoans to live more sustainably. Our workshops allow participants to learn skills and information from local artists and Rebuilding Exchange partners on a variety of topics from DIY and home improvement to recycling. Woodworking and sustainability classes offer participants hands-on experiences with practical application, piquing the interest of students and encouraging them to purse woodworking as a hobby or trade. Tour our facilities and learn about unique items that tell Chicago’s history.

“You’re building something that was dead and giving it life and it’s beautiful because this was once a piece of lumber that someone threw away is now a beautiful wooden cabinet.”

James Chalmers
Former Job Trainee

“In order to stop a landfill you stop what goes into it. Reusing materials is the best way to stop generating waste.”

Bryant williams
Former Senior Director

“When I came to Rebuilding Exchange I thought it was going to be just a warehouse, an assembly line. Once coming here I see that there’s a completely different mission and purpose for RX.
